Tata Motors today launched the extended range Tigor EV Electric Sedan, with a range of 213 km in India at Rs.9.44 lakh (Ex.showroom Delhi). Here are the top 5 things you need to know about the new Tata Tigor EV.

 1. Most Affordable Electric Sedan

The Tata Tigor EV Electric Sedan will be available in 3 variants – XE+, XM+ and XT+ – for both fleet and personal segment customers. The new Tigor EV will be available across 30 cities, at a starting price of Rs. 9.44 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi (after deducting Govt. subsidies). This vehicle qualifies for a FAME II incentive for eligible commercial customers. The new extended version offers an enhanced driving range, low cost of ownership, connectivity, comfort of a sedan and zero emissions.

The Tata Tigor EV Electric Sedan, with a range of 213 km, certified by ARAI. which is significantly higher than the 142 km range of the standard Tigor EV. The 50 percent improvement in range comes from the incorporation of a 21.5kWh battery pack in place of the earlier 16.2kWh system. AC charging and DC fast charging are part of the package. As before, the model is powered by a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor that makes 30kW (41hp) at 4,500rpm and 105Nm of torque at 2,500rpm. The power is channeled to the front wheels via a single-speed gearbox, though Tata has added driving modes – namely Drive and Sport – to the Tigor EV.

3. Fast Charging

Tata Motors launched Tigor EV: Top 5 things to know | VANDI4UTata Tigor EV comes with a 21.5 kWh battery pack, which helps the Tata Tigor EV to offer a significantly longer range than the standard Tata Tigor EV. The car has 2 charging ports – fast charging as well as slow AC charging. Battery cooling system is designed to ensure consistent performance even in extreme ambient temperature conditions. Tata Tigor EV can be charged to 80% in just 2 hours using a 15 kW charger, while normal charging takes about 11.5 hours.

The Tata Tigor EV gets an Signature EV decals, Premium front grille, Stylish alloys, Shark-fin antenna and LED high mounted stop lamp. The Tata Tigor EV now features with three elegant colours: Pearlescent white, Egyptian blue and Roman silver. The interiors are completely refreshed to offer an all new dashboard with Classic black & grey interior, sound system by Harman™, height adjustable seat and superior seat fabric.

5. Safety

The Tata Tigor EV will be equipped with dual airbags  (XE+ variant with Driver Airbag only) and an anti-lock braking system as standard safety features. The vehicle also comes with an inbuilt warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh kms, whichever is earlier.
