KIA Seltos made its global debut at a special event in Delhi, India. KIA Motors have confirmed that the Seltos will go on sale in India by second half of 2019 and bookings are expected to open by mid-July of 2019. KIA Seltos will be manufactured for different regions at two of the KIA’s production facilities in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, India and Gwangju Korea. Kia will commence retail sales in India with the highest number of dealerships ever seen from a new car entrant into the market. Kia plans to make a milestone in Indian market by launching the Seltos.
Kia Seltos has an stunning exterior design details, the long hood, a strong character line on front bumper, wide “Tiger nose grille” helps the Seltos to stand out from its rivals. The rear bumper comes with a metallic muffler effect accentuates its dynamic design. Seltos comes with a intricate and sharply designed full LED headlamps and taillamp, which helps in providing the car a commanding and confident precense in the road. Seltos has an LED DRLs (Day Time Running Lights) with 3D multi-layer indicators which makes the car more appealing than its rivals.
Kia Seltos interior is equipped with range of technologies to maximise connectivity and convenience such as, the cabin incorporates a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 37 connectivity functions, a 360-degree camera, sunroof, ventilated front seats, auto wipers and headlights, leather upholstery, sound mood lighting, 8.0-inch Head Up Display which projects relevant driving related information on to a small glass panel behind the steering wheel and Seltos also gets a premium eight speaker Bode audio system.
The Kia Seltos sits on a choice of 16 inch, 17 inch or 18 inch premium crystal cut alloy wheels, which complement the dimensions of the car, lending it a powerful stance. The wheels are shod with high-grip 205/60 R16, 215/55 R17 or 235/45 R18 tyres.
The KIA Seltos body is made up of blend steel and aluminium, maximum torsional rigidity while keeping body weight low. With a high proportion of Advanced High Strength Steel components. Kia Motors claims that the rigid body shell reduces road vibrations and enhances occupant safety in the event of a collision. The top trim will get a Brake-force Assist System and Hill-start Assist Control, as well as front and rear parking sensors with a 360 Degree Camera.
KIA Seltos will be available in India with three engine options- a 1.6-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine producing 177 PS, a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 149 PS and a 11.6-litre Diesel engine producing 136 PS. The Seltos will be offered with two automatic transmission options – a seven speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The last of the engine options will be exclusive to the Seltos GT Line, which will feature sporty detains both outside and inside.
The Seltos is equipped with a Drive Mode Select system that lets drivers adapt the car to their preferred style or the road conditions. Drivers can choose from ‘Normal’, ‘Eco’ and ‘Sport’ mode. All variants of the Seltos will get a BS-6 compliant engine.The Kia Seltos might be priced between Rs. 11-18 Lakhs (estimated ex-showroom).
