Hyundai India launched the third generation Grand i10 Nios in India at Rs. 4.99 Lakhs. The new hatchback will sit between Grand i10 and I20 in the Hyundai hatchback lineup. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios can now be booked at Hyundai dealerships, as well as online, for a booking amount of Rs. 11,000. Deliveries are expected to commence by end of the month. The new Grand i10 Nios is priced about Rs.1,000 more than Grand i10.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is available in four variants – Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. Both diesel and petrol variants gets a five-speed manual transmission and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) as an option in selected variants.
Third generation Hyundai Grand i10 gets a sportier design which is based on the Hyundai Venue platform. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios 20mm wider and 40 mm longer than the Hyundai Grand i10. The Grand i10 now gets a Cascading Grille similar to the one seen in 2020 Hyundai Elantra. The new Cascading Grille in Grand i10 Nios is wider and longer than the one seen in Hyundai Santro. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets a sculpted bumper along with new projector headlamps (with-follow-me-home function) with LED DRLs and projector fog lamps on the higher-spec variants
The side profile of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios looks compact with floating roof on the C-pillar that helps retain the tall stance and monocle shape similar to the Hyundai Grand i10. The window lines rises sharply towards the back , chrome door handles, diamond cut alloy wheels and shark-fin antenna adds some charms to the Nios appearance. At the rear, it will get LED tail-lamp along with NIOS badging across the boot lid and G-i10 logo on the C-Pillar. The Grand i10 Nios gets new tail-lamp and bumper design at the back.
The interior of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets an a new dual-tone dashboard. The cabin also comes with an optional dual-tone red and teal finish. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios interior is equipped with range of technologies to maximize connectivity and convenience such as, the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity in the Grand i10 Nios. In addition to the voice recognition feature, the system now gets comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The screen can also be used as a rear-view monitor via the rear parking camera. The new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers segment-first features like a wireless phone charger and Arkamys sound system with four modes – Natural, Live, Lounge and Club. The Eco Coating technology claims to eliminate unpleasant smell in the AC evaporator by degrading the micro-organisms developed in the AC Evaporator Core.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios also gets premium seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, bolstered front seats with convex shaped headrest and the rear seats have been designed to offer superior thigh and back support. As for convenience, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers tilt steering, engine start/stop button, driver seat height adjustment and electrically adjustable and retractable OVRMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors).
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is equipped with balanced suspension system and it offers confident steering for easy maneuverability. The front suspension is mounted with McPherson Strut type with Urethane Bump Stopper to offer stability at rough road drives and reduces body roll giving improved cornering performance. The rear suspension uses Coupled Torsion Beam Axle with a vertical shock-absorber that minimizes shock rebound to provide a comfortable and stable ride quality.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be available in six colors – Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Aqua Teal and Alpha Blue. Grand i10 news comes fitted with dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), seat belt remainder, speed alert and rear parking sensors are standard fitment across the all variants. The Grand i10 Nios is also compliant with upcoming crash test and pedestrian safety norms. Higher-spec variants also get a driver rear view monitor that uses the infotainment system’s display.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be powered by one petrol and one diesel engine. The 1197 cc 4-cylinder petrol which churns out 83 BHP and 114 Nm of Torque. The U2 CRDi diesel engine is a three-cylinder, turbocharged unit that churns out 75hp and 190Nm of torque; its mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT (both have an ARAI rated mileage of 26.2kpl). Hyundai said that both petrol and diesel engine will be retuned for improved low-end performance and better fuel efficiency. Both engines will be mated with a 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is the first Hyundai model to get a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine. The BS-VI compliant diesel engine is likely to arrive sometime early in 2020. Both the engines get a five-speed manual as standard, while AMT option is available in select variants. As per ARAI figures, the petrol manual returns a fuel efficiency figure of 20.7kmpl, while the automatic returns 20.5kmpl. The 1.2-litre diesel manual and automatic return the same fuel efficiency figure of 26.2kmpl.

Hyundai offers a Variable Basic Warranty package with options including 3-year/1-lakh kilometer or 4-year/50,000km or 5-year/40,000km, along with a roadside assistance pack.
