    Hyundai AURA features revealed ahead of launch in January 21, 2020. The Hyundai Aura was earlier unvieled in Chennai, India. The new Hyundai Aura gets a sportier design which is based on the Hyundai’s new design language. The Hyundai Aura is 20 mm wider than the Hyundai Xcent. The Aura sports a Cascading Grille similar to the one seen in the all new Hyundai Elantra.

    Design

    Hyundai AURA conveys a Modern & Stunning Design, offering versatile characteristics exhibiting elegant styling and bold character form to deliver a fresh interpretation of Hyundai’s signature design language of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. The vehicle front profile showcases unique Twin Boomerang Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) integrated with Premium Satin Front Grille with Projector type Head Lamps & Fog Lamps.

    The side profile indicates unique sportiness through its Coupe like styling and Luxurious Volume and solid wheel-arches created by Two Unique Character Lines and R15 Diamond Cut Type Alloy Wheel. Hyundai AURA has a very Distinctive Rear Design with emphasis on wide stance, robust sporty bumper design And LED Tail Lamp with Stylish 3-Dimensional Outer Lens. The Trunk Lid Garnish Of Chrome Strip with Glossy Black Wrap Around makes it the most stylish sedan in its segment.

    Hyundai Aura is powered by 3 new (Bharat Stage) BS-6 Compliant enginesKappa 1.0 Iitre BS 6 T-GDI Petrol, 1.2 litre MPI BS-6 Petrol and First-in-Segment 1.2 litre BS-6 ECOTORQ diesel engine, offering Superior Power, Performance and Fuel Efficiency.

    The Kappa 1.0 litre T-GDI engine is developed by Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D division will open new era of next generation engines – a perfect combination of performance, fuel efficiency and compliant with emission norms under BS-6 fuel guidelines. The Kappa 1.0 litre T-GDI engine mated with a 5 speed manual transmission churns out 100 hp and 170 Nm of peek torque. The 1.0 litre Kappa T-GDI has a compact lay out by integrating the exhaust manifold to cylinder head thus improving the fuel efficiency at higher RPM ranges. This engine on the Aura will come only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

    Developed by Hyundai R&D, the ECOTORQ Diesel BS 6 Engine is Cleaner-Greener, powerful as well as a fuel efficient engine. The 1.2 litre ECOTORQ engine churns out 75 hp and 190 Nm of peak torque. It consists of 2000 bar Fuel Injection System that allows better combustion and fuel efficiency. The crankshaft bearing with optimized thickness and material reduce friction allows excellent driving even in city conditions and enhances engine life. The transmission has been subjected to rigorous durability tests for ensuring High Gear Strength and better Clutch Friction Materials to offer the best performance at high speeds, off-road, hillsides and harsh climatic conditions.
    The 1.2 litre MPI BS-6 Petrol churns ou 83 hp and 114 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 litre petrol and diesel engine will be available in both 5-speed manual and an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox. Hyundai will also offer a factory-fit CNG option on the 1.2-litre petrol engine.

    Advanced Safety

    Hyundai AURA is built on Strong Body Structure with integrated 65% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS+HSS) Application that ensures light body weight with high strength. Its rigid structure is equipped with Advanced Ring Structure Application allowing increased Static & Dynamic Stiffness for Superior Safety, Low NVH and Superior Handling along with Advanced Safety System to provide the best Active and Passive safety for a stress-free driving and better crash energy absorption, due to dual path structure. The Hyunadai Aura will offer 2 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and emergency stop signal as standard feature. The top end variant will get driver rear view monitor.

    Ride and Handling

    Hyundai claims that the all new AURA is extremely agile and reliable in handling with quick settled ride comfort providing Best Ride & Handling Performance. The steering is fitted with Higher Capacity Motor for quicker response with Increased Ratio for better feedback. The suspension Spring Stiffness is increased for Controlled Body Motion with Tuned Damper Valve for excellent round feel. The Hyundai AURA has been tested and evaluated across India over 7,500 kms to assess its reliability and durability on different powertrain configurations and diverse road and climate conditions. Good Noise Isolation and Enhanced Sealing for Low NVH and silent cabin enhances driving pleasure.
