    The 2020 all-new Mahindra Thar retains the signature iconic design elements like the round headlamps, 7-slot grille and boxy taillamps. The new Mahindra Thar comes with new dual front bumpers, front fender mounted LED DRLs, fog lamps, LED taillamps, Sinster Silver 18-inch alloy wheels (largest in the segment) and steel footsteps.

    The 2020 All-New Mahindra Thar has been built on a 3rd Generation body-on-frame chassis and tested extensively in some of the harshest terrain in India. The new Independent Front Suspension & Multi-Link Rear Suspension set-up delivers better off-roading capability, as well as superior on-road handling and drive quality than its predecessor.

    The 2020 All-New Mahindra Thar is equipped with advanced off-road hardware that seriously improves its capability to go wherever and do whatever the driver demands of it. The new off-road features include; Shift-on-the-Fly 4×4 manual shift transfer case with low ratio, mechanical locking differential on the rear axle, brake locking differential and electromechanical driveline disconnect on front axle. The new Mahindra Thar with a ground clearance of 226 mm has a water wading depth of 650 mm and class-leading approach (41.8 degree), departure (36.8 degree) & ramp over (27 degree) angles. The 2020 Mahindra Thar rides on a new 18-inch all-terrain tyres.

    The 2020 All-New Mahindra Thar is powered by two all-new petrol and diesel engines which set new standards in terms of performance, refinement and reliability. The Mahindra Thar petrol is powered by the 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine, which churns out 150 bhp of power at rpm and 320 Nm of peak torque at rpm.

    The new Mahindra Thar diesel is powered by the 2.2L mHawk Diesel engine which churns out 130 bhp of power at rpm and 320 Nm of peak torque at rpm. Both engines are offered with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, with an authentic 4×4 manual shift transfer case with a low ratio.

    The 2020 All-new Mahindra Thar comes with new dashboard which houses a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sporty Front Seats, front-facing rear seats with 50:50 split, roof mounted weather-resistant speakers, height adjustable driver seat with adjustable lumbar support, one-touch tip & slide mechanism on the co-driver Seat, tilt adjustable steering wheel and power windows.

    The 2020 all new Mahindra Thar will be available in 2 variants, an off-road focused AX and lifestyle focused LX. The AX variant comes with the petrol and Diesel engine, both paired with 6-speed manual transmission. While, the LX variant comes with petrol and Diesel engines. The Thar LX petrol variant will be available only in automatic transmission.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar also gets removable doors for off-road use, tow hitch protection, washable floor withdrawn plugs and welded tow hooks in front and rear. The 2020 Mahindra Thar will be available in six colours to choose from – Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Red Rage, Rocky Beige, Galaxy Grey and Aquamarine Blue.
